Cadets Streak Ends in the Big House
Fall to RH in Section V Championship 34-66
The Hilton Cadet's five game winning streak came to an end on Saturday March 1, 2008's Section V Championship at the Blue Cross Arena. The Cadets came on strong mid-way through the first quarter and early second quarter to get to within 2 points of the host, Rush-Henrietta Comets, but a huge 13-0 drive by the Comets going into the half, left the Cadets scrambling for the key to overcoming RH's offense. The determined Cadet defense held RH's Dane Miller to only 11 points but RH went to Cruz Sanchez and Clay Harris to fill the margin. Seniors Brian Duffy and James Moss led the Cadets in their last game with 12 and 9 points respectively. The Cadets finished the 2007-2008 Season 12-11.

Cadets Advance to MC Championship!
Thanks to Mother Nature, the Hilton Seniors had a second chance to win one last game at home. Round 1 of the Monroe County Basketball Tournament was postponed because of weather-related school closings, and the Bracket 4 games scheduled at Pittsford Mendon had to be relocated due to a conflict. So the senior Cadets returned home, one last time, to face Penfield's Patriots. The Cadets outscored the Patriots 18-12 in the first quarter, but the Patriots battled back. At the half, the game was tied, 29-29. The Cadets came back blazing the second half, outscoring the Patriots, 39-24 to clinch the victory and their place in the Championship Round. Senior Bret Clark scored a season-high 24 points and 4 steals to lead the Cadets, and seniors Brian Duffy and James Moss added 14 and 12 points respectively. The Cadets will face Webster Schroeder in the championship round on Wednesday, February 13, 2007 @ 7:45 pm at Pittsford Mendon. Penfield and Mendon will play in the Consolation Game at 6:00 p.m.

DON'T FORGET TO GET SOME CADET BASKETBALL GEAR FOR GAME DAY!

During the December 14 game between the Hilton Cadets and Greece Athena Trojans, junior guard, #24 Corey McEvoy was injured. While Corey's injuries appeared quite serious, we are happy to report that he is home recuperating. His test reports were normal however Corey did require several stiches in his ear. Corey's family appreciates everyone's support and tells us that Corey is doing fine. They would also like to thank the Greece Volunteer Ambulance paramedics; Athena's Athletic Trainer, Todd Peterson; Greg Nichols; and the doctors at Strong Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care. They are very touched at the outpouring of concern from the Hilton Basketball Community. Corey's dad, Jim reports that 20-30 Hilton players, coaches, parents, and fans stayed with them in the emergency room until 1:30 am despite many having to get on the bus at 10:00 am for the Bishop Ludden game in Syracuse - thanks to all!
